“ I say that no man can be greater than the man who bravely and heroically sacrifices his life for the good of others. No man can be greater than the one who meets death face to face, and yet will not shrink from what he believes to be his highest duty” -  Robert Green Ingersoll   On the sad day, when our beloved “tiger” went quietus, I was at Ikeja, Lagos, engrossed with work when my wife called me to break the sad news of Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala’s exit. “Femi, Alao Akala is gone, just read the breaking news online” and shortly after that, I received a call from one of my friends in the media, whose aim was to confirm if truly Chief Adebayo Alao Akala had kicked the bucket. Still doubtful about the sad news, hurriedly, I rang one of my friends, Debo Thomas Olushola, an illustrious Ogbomoso son and an entrepreneur, who is currently building the first ever African smart Eco System called “Valor City” in Ogbomoso and a friend to Olamijuwonlo Alao -Akala, the deceased s

The political drums and songs towards the next electioneering year in 2023 are strategically being played. The political foot soldiers and the gladiators both are already buckling up, while the former have gone a little further by blowing the vuvuzela of the political ambition of their principals. On social media channels these days,  posts, write ups and comments have started flooding the digital shrine, all hailing and strategically declaring their supports for  numerous political heroes. In Oyo state, as it is in other states of the federation, the political gladiators are strategically positioning themselves in the eyes of the public and their different political parties as competent candidates for various offices in 2023. However, of most significant political office in the pacesetter's state with the most juicest cup, is the office of the governor and there are few contenders who might not have made a public declaration but whose political foot soldiers have taken the words

Living in Fear

The situation we have currently found  ourselves in Nigeria,  no doubt is pathetic.  The majority of our citizens now  live daily in fear. From the north to the southern part, it is fear!  For instance, residents of  western Nigeria now witness all manners of kidnapping, killings and other anti-social vices and the residents in the eastern region, a once enterprising headquarter of Nigeria, wake up daily to witness  theatre of ballistics war. Indeed,  it is no lie, if anyone said, no region is totally peaceful in Nigeria at the moment.  In fear and in tremble, we all live. On our highways, we drive with fear, at our homes, we sleep with one eye opened and the other one  half - closed. At work, we are always at alert and security conscious, just so, none is caught off guard. In fear, Nigerians search for their economic livelihood everyday. Our higher institutions that supposed to be citadels of learning, where future leaders are groomed for the future prosperity of our great nation, pa

NOW THAT PRESIDENT PRESIDENT BUHARI HAS REJIGGED THE SECURITY APPARATUS, WHAT’S NEXT?

The President, Mr Mohammed Buhari and his team have done virtually everything they thought they should do on curbing the growing high insecurity in Nigeria and it seems yet all is not well. Initially, the President foot- dragged on retiring the ex- military chiefs and bring in new ones on board to fight the growing state of insecurity in Nigeria. But finally, all thanks to the unconquerable voice of reasons that never allowed Mr. President to breathe and   finally our man at Aso Rock did the needful- showed the old security chiefs the way out!   And of recent, President Buhari not seems to be satisfied with the way banditry activities are growing in Nigeria, pulled a fast one on the ‘oga patapata’ in police uniform, after 2 months extension of the immediate past Inspector General of police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar Adamu and with no significant improvement in his service delivery on internal security, showed Mr. Abubakar the exit door off-guard. As Otunba Festus Masajuwa Turns a Golden Age Today: Happy Birthday Sir! Femi Ojo

“Femo lalaaaa, Femo, Femo!! Showapa?” that’s Otunba Festus Masajuwa’s usual hailing - courtesy since October 2016; when I have known him as my boss at Wilson & Weizmann Associates, a media /public affairs consulting firm where I was an employee   for almost a decade. Otunba Festus Masajuwa’s was the General Manager of Wilson and Weizmann   Associates, the one we all referred to as “de facto” Chief of Staff and Second in Command to our Chairman, Oga Amuta.   He is a tall man, about six feet or thereabout, in fact, the tallest amongst us as at the time I was with the firm, good-humored ,modest but sophisticated, accessible and sometimes; might be sly on a convoluted staff’ issues. Let me add that, Otunba is a fine-looking man with a good heart. As a lesser rank staff to Otunba, I had an unhindered access to him to discuss issues ranging from matters at work, business, personal development, politics, family, welfare and even at some occasions, I sought his spiritual gu
